Short and sweet - I don't want to be given the hard sell on trips and excursions, just need the important stuff if I am in a new resort I've never been to before.

Been to LDA 3 times, last time was in Hotel Aalborg which is entirely run by Neilson staff. On the coach, they invited us down for a drink in the bar with the welcome meeting to follow if people wanted to attend. They had given out the lift passes, etc, on the coach and knowing the resort, we didn't go to the meeting but it was a nice opportunity to meet some of the staff and have a drink with everyone.

Many didn't go to the meet, but stayed in the bar for another drink and a chat - good atmosphere.
The best tour operator and why?

Been Neilson last 2 hold - first chalet board, cracking host, good food. Second, hotel run by them, really enthusiastic staff if a little young, but can't fault it, again, good food.

Trying Skiworld for the first time this season.

Only been with Crystal in the past, they were....okay....can't really say much more than that. And have done DIY.

As other posters say, it's really down to personal taste - what you want out of the holiday, the actual experience you have at the time, amongst other factors.
Leave you alone....seriously, after a 4am start, airport scrum, flight, airport scrum again, all I want is a snooze. All the reps I have come across seem to have it pretty much sorted in that respect! Tended to have greeted us onece on the coach, gone up and down everyone, passed out any lift passes, paperwork, etc needed then left us to get on with the journey.

Other than that, another scott round as you get towards resort, answers any questions and so on. Someone who knows the resort well is invaluable - you don't want to get the newbie who's just moved there from another resort and is as lost as you are!!

I used to get odd ridges on my toes a few weeks after skiing. After having new boots, that were incidentally smaller than my old ones that I now conclude were at least 1 size too big, I didn't have this problem.

Got told the same thing, it is the foot not being held correctly, sliding forwards and my toes baching the inner of my boot.
Seen this on Snowheads earlier today, to say the people who have lost money have been well and truly done over would be an understatement.

Ditto, never seen a ski bag searched just weighed. I first bought an unpdded bag then realised how inappropriate it was so upgraded.

My bag is heavily padded, I add a fleece or two stuffed in each end to add a bit extra protection for tips and tails, wrap a couple of extra around the bindings - bag also has an internal extra bit of padding here too.

Pull the internal compression straps as tight as I can and cross all fingers...

I do have to say, the bag I have is really good, a K2 bag I bought quite cheaply from one of the online retailers, name escapes me, but highly recommend if you can find one.
