Glad you found it, have you done your own review on serre che?

I pop over for the day, about 4 times a season, from Montgenevre so I haven't done a review.

Not sure i would want to be on the same lift 21 times in a day :D might seem like a groundhog day..

Technically in the French Alps it would be 'Journée Marmotte' :)

Hey Tony,

Finally found the Peyra Juana last week on an expedition to Serre Che. A lovely place. It's taken me 2 years to get there, but what a lovely surprise. Looked great with, or without goggles.

Agree, aslo prevents tears at high speeds which sunglasses are prone to. Goggles fit helmets better. Shame about the odd tan line over the season though.

If you divide MogulMonkey's miles by 2 you'll probably be about right. 20 miles per day average. Depends on the speed of the lifts in proportion to the runs. Pick one long run with a fast lift and you can increase your ratio. The Cucumelle in Serre Chevalier is 3.8 km long and with the new chairlift you could do 3 runs an hour over 7 hours = 80 km a day = 50 miles a day.
Ski specific question?

They sound like a very good ski. It now comes down to your abilities, skiing style, and what you want out of a ski. Do you carve your skis or slide?

If they are anything like mine you will need to be quite aggressive with them, but they give back as much as you put in. Fantastic carving with a lot of 'bounce-back'.

Maybe start the week on what you know, then try a slalom ski and save the all-mountain ski for last. Maybe the following review will make your mind up.

It totally depends on the weather. The last 2 years Sauze suffered: 2011 from a heatwave and 2012 from heatwave and a drought all winter.

This year has been much kinder and cold temperatures recently with a big dump right now are improving things. The lower runs will suffer as they are at a relatively low altitude, but the higher slopes go up to 2800m. The lift system has been improved and the runs through the trees are fabulous.
