I'm no expert but I just think things have moved on and they just aren't made like that anymore.
I'm sure there's no safety issue or anything. Found this on the web... Rear-Entry Boots Rear Entry ski boots became popular during the mid 1990's due to the fact that they were so easy to put on. As they aren't as fashionable these days, they can often be found at discount prices selling at even garage sales, so it is best to keep a look out in your local area. However, these boots are not ideal for professional and advanced skiers as they do not seem to be able to perform to high standards of skiing. They are ideal for cruising around and light skiing, but overall more modern boots are recommended for the advanced skier. |

Hi Snapzz,
That's pretty late. The snow could be pretty ropy by the end of April. You'd need to head really high, Val Thorens & Tignes are 2 places that spring to mind. Are you tied to school holidays? I've just had a look at the calendar for state schools in our local authority and they break up Friday 8th April, so you could possibly get away a little earlier. We went to Puy St Vincent around the 11th April one year and the snow was ok and in Serre Chevalier was still pretty good. You might be lucky, you might not. We usually go in April, and it's my favoured time, but you never quite know what you'll get. Sometimes rain, sometimes minus 20, sometimes powder, but usually lots of sun. Dids Ah...agree with previous message - if you could hang on it would be great as you'd know where was good without fretting for months beforehand. |

My sis in law has a place in Whitefish. A sandwich bar/restaurant. Moved there last November, enjoying life there, but has found it hard going with the recession etc. Loves the skiing though was saying the other day that they could do with a bit more snow. |

Deffo. He took them back several times and they were unable to make them comfortable for him He was (as so many of us are) naive and unknowledgeable and just thought it would be like buying shoes. Anyway, as I sad he's happy now, thanks to a woman fitter - and I think the resort was Courcheval. |
