Following yesterdays European election results, I am thinking that Switzerland might be a good option after all. At least we will know what currency we will need

Andy, all you have to do is hold the camera level, and all your worries disappear  Mind you, I would like to know if you managed to miss that rock you now seem to be heading for

I'm not new either Dave  and I would be happy to hold her drink for her

Just jesting of course, no offence meant to your friend in the original comment.

She is a Brit, but gained her ski instructor qualification in Austria, is fluent in six languages, has lived all over Europe, but currently lives in Austria, works with the Winter Olympic committee, is one of my best ski buddies, a seriously, seriously, fast skier, dead heated with me in a race down the Marbachjoch in 2min 40sec for a slightly over three and a half km run, (we beat the head instructor), can out-party anyone, and has buckets of money.

Oh, and when she loses the daft brown jacket, errm, nay bad......

Apart from that, she is pretty ordinary, really.

 Wow, is she married yet?
Christmas Skiing

Hi Jo&Stu, I have never actually been skiing at Christmas, but from what I have seen around that period, the Germans and Austrians definitely seem to do "Festive" better than a lot of the rest of Europe.

If I was going to do a Christmas trip, they would be the countries at the top of my list.

 Jan or March are my preferred months please. I cannot do half term or the week before, that is compulsory for me at work. In fact I cannot do any week which is just before a school holiday. Also, Feb tends to be when I do my family and friends ski trip, and I would prefer to keep them separate so I can get another holiday in

Icy, it is all well and good leaving personal trips to late bookings, but when trying to arrange something for a larger group, especially a group who are varied in ability, location and age, it is much better to start as soon as you can and get a basic set of ideas in place so you know ehere to start your enquiries closer to the date.

I am not having a dig at Ally here, but perhaps if the 2013 trip had started earlier, we may have found something which would have been more acceptable to you, both in location and time of travel.

Not half as much as my derriere with beer consumption and at ski altitude

Hence I am not looking to share my room, it would not be fair on anyone

Is that TMI?
