Agree with you Jonah about UK roads. We left Samoens (Grand Massif) at 8.50 am yesterday and were at Eurotunnel departure by 5.30.

Our crossing was at 7.20pm- all stress free til then. Hit the M25, clogged and stop/start. And those middle lane hoggers

Did ok though, back to South West by 10.30pm.

Hi Ally,
Glad you got your new boots and that your legs and toes weren't too scary.

I'm buying new ski boots

My favorite brand for best value is Sessions

Backcountry are based in the US and would not ship the O'Neill jacket I liked to the UK.
Was lucky to have family in America so they ordered it and sent it over to the UK.

It's lovely and at £77.00 including all postage was great value.
Nelly, sorry to hear your daughter is poorly, tonsillitis is horrible.

Our pre holiday drama began about an hour ago when I received an email from LD lines saying our 6.30am ferry on Sunday morning had been cancelled.
Was a bit concerned about their reliability as the time had already changed, so am actually quite relieved.
Have now booked the Eurotunnel which always offers greater flexibility than the ferry, but of course costs more.

I've called LD Lines for a refund, but have had 2 unsuccessful attempts. Was disconnected the 1st time and waited in queue the 2nd.
It's probably everyone panicking to make alternative arrangements.

And best wishes to all for a good Easter break - whatever you're up to.

If you decide on Whitefish drop in and see my sis in law and bro in law in their takeaway/restaurant sandwich type bar.

Let you know the name if you decide to go.
They're from Cumbria - but nice enough! )

Leave at 6am Friday morning and get 3 days skiing in.
Drive back Tuesday. :D :D :D

Whats everyone else up to?
Buying Umbrellas looking at the forecast for UK.

Did you decide to take chains over the Col?

Looking at the forecast for the end of this week Friday looks clear, but I think could be risky to go without.

And sods law says if you don't take them you'll need them.
Forecast is for lots of snow for Serre Chevalier tho.

We're driving down Sunday, but we're not far off the motorway (taking the chains though)
