As someone who was labelled for having a point of view this comment made me laugh out loud. Nice one........ |

Good luck .... I want to join everyone in wishing you luck.
So many people would like to make life changes and I admire anyone who does so. It's great that the time is right for you and it sounds like you'll make a success of whatever you venture into. Re your appraisement - wracking brains for 'business speak' that you would need to include. These appraisements - or elements of them must be pretty generic You'd need all the usuals Time keeping Team working Flexibility Measures to improve on (performance improvement) Is this the sort of thing you think would be required? plus measures that apply to the actual job -but I've never worked with children. I bet there's someone out there who can help out.... |

I agree with all Mark (above) says.
The only disadvantage (for me) going at half term is the queues. Went once to the Grand Massif and it was very busy. That was 2007 though and the snow was poor, so the slopes that had snow were obviously more crowded. (because the snow cover was poor people used the ones with better snow cover) The apartment will be more - but not massively if you look around. Try owners direct, holiday rentals.. Everything else costs the same - lift passes etc, as any other time. It's mostly the tour operators who hike the prices. Because we were on a budget this year we took most of our food, meals cooked in advance stayed frozen on the journey (to Samoens) and we used frozen milk as ice blocks. Make sure that's there's a freezer where you're staying and you won't need to buy much all week really. I know it's a holiday, but if it's a choice between going and not going it's worth self catering to save a few quid. |

Eggman?
26th?! You could hire a bike and cycle home in that time! Hope you find somewhere open. Flaine was still pretty good when we left last Saturday. Enjoy...hope it isn't costing you too much extra though. |

Hi,
I've been there. we went with Equity Total ski (as they were called then - now Rocket Ski ) Equity do the schools part I believe) We went in early March 2002 and stayed in a Hotel called The Continental which is right at the bottom of the slopes, a few minutes walk from a chairlift. I remember a gondola in the village itself which was easier to access from the other hotels as the chair by us was a bit of a walk for them. The chair lifts on the slopes were good, one had a cover and my Mum who was only learning was allowed to travel down on chairlifts which is often not possible. The village is nice, there was a couple of great pizza restaurants there. The skiing was adequate for us as a family group with 2 kids aged 6 & 8, but I wouldn't go there now as the area would not be sufficient. I really liked it there, if I was starting out skiing with a family I'd go there again. If you are good skiers you might get a bit bored with the area. I think you can extensions to nearby resorts - possible Madonna di Campiglio. Have you considered Claviere? Same kind of place but larger ski area available. |

I thought something looked different, didn't notice the rating box missing though. Well spotted.
