Austrians are a "light" version of the Germans.....I always feel the French are sneering a bit too much at us.
Everywhere is awesome with new powder snow and everywhere is crap without. Thus endeth the lesson. (on which basis I need to be in Canada or Japan or someplace) |

Not sure what I would do.......depends on your amount of free time, your budget, your dedication, your friends, your other options. Too many variables.
I would say bin the holiday and go heli-skiing in Canada in January - but such things may not be possible/desirable/affordable. Aghh - Dave updated his post with same cut and paste. p.s. 14 day forecast does indeed look shite for that area. |

It's grim. I skiied Scheffau in Skiwelt on Saturday which had a few runs open but was fairly pants frankly. Then on Sunday I did Kitzbühel which was much better....a little sunshine and slopes were in better condition....although of course 100% cannon snow.
I was in Niederau today and it was pissing with rain across the wet and green slopes of grass. Forecasts now through to New Year are all still basically rubbbish. Hints of snow but varying forecasts and NONE indicating a proper dump of any sort. Enjoy. |

We are all fools. How did we miss Cervinia? Why do I not live in Cervinia? Why did I not buy my season pass for Cervinia? Damn.

Yeh my first "booked" weekend of visitors is the 19th, so trying not to flap, although the forecasts are all still rubbish currently. Resorts are opening but gonna be limited slopes and crappy snow.

Due to the current weather situation and taking into account the current forecasts, we regret to inform that a ski season launch on Friday, December 5, 2014 is not possible and it must therefore be expected to move on Friday, December 12, 2014.
