Ski boots

Boots are probably too tight/poor fit.

I have had 4 years of this with ill fitting boots, finally got it sorted this year got Ellis Brigham to change them for the 4th time, this time hit the jackpot. It seemed a much better service and understanding of fitting there From previous experience hence 4th change.

No pins and needles, no pain or cold feet which was a problem when the life was being squeezed out if my feet.

Temperatures last week were -22, boots covered in fresh snow didn't have to think about anything except skiing.

My life savers are Head Adaptive Edge boots but you need a boot fitter to recommend dependent on your feet, skiing ability etc.

Gloves/Lining Gloves

Easy, buy the gloves there they will have a better selection of warm gloves, bought the Hestra ones for my daughter in Kirchberg at the Ski rental shop.
Just got back from Kirchberg late Saturday night, drove all the way.

Transfer should be just under 2 hours, but the traffic was horrible and took near 3 for that part of the journey, accidient I think.

As you are going on a Thursday I wouldn't have thought it would be so bad as everyone heads to Austria for skiing at the weekends.

The journey back was just as bad though, just heavy traffic, stop & start at junctions.

As for restaurants one of the best value places was Pizzeria-Ristorante Nabucco, not on the main high street though and paid between 9 to 11 Euros for a really big and nice Pizza (dependant on toppings) large beer about 4 Euros I think, definately didn't feel I was being ripped off.

I am with Bandit on this one, I bought a pair of Hestra Gloves 3 seasons ago and haven't felt the cold not even last week when in Austria the temp was -22 early in the week.

Also bought my daughter a pair of Hestra mits with removable linings last week for 45 Euros as she unfortunately hurt her wrist in a fall and was put in a cast, wrongly I have found out today as no fracture!, and couldn't get her gloves on, she then complained her hands were too hot in the mits, no pleasing some people.

Who wears a helmet?

Wearing mine for 2 seasons now, not really sure why I converted as I hate wearing hats but the lid didn't and hasn't bothered me.

I wasn't with the kids either trying to set an example, but they are back on board the trip at the end of this week and we will all be wearing them.

Did try skiing without it last year and felt odd not having it on, so the first opportunity to get it I did and definately don't feel any safer or braver as a skier for wearing it, just preference for all wear it, don't wear it.

To make it seem stranger I don't wear one out on the bike and probably potentially more danger and go faster, don't feel the need just like some skiiers don't feel the need and would hate someone saying to me I have to.

So there's a question, there seem to be a lot that enjoy their snow sports on here, of those of you that don't wear a helemt and cycle a lot, do you wear a helmet then?

Again no right or wrong but really IMHO, choice should prevail...

Stayed in Westendorf a couple of season ago for 6 days.

Yes Definately a bus to the Flekenbauhm (I think its called)in Kirchberg, don't remember it being 10 mins, but could have been, having too much fun time going too quickly!

The All-Star card well worth having, think it is about 25 Euros more for a week, Definately wasn't worth worrying about the extra expense and you will want to go more than once.
