I thought I might try to 'selvage' this thread by posting this:

Are you trolling to wind people up? This is the kind of ill informed misconception that used abound years ago.

You forget that until recently 99% of skiers could not carve turns, and were able to totally ruin any soft nicely groomed piste into moguls in no time at all, by skidding their skis from side to side, instead of making real turns.. It's not so bad now that skis are shaped like snowboards, and skiers are able to make real turns. For every beginner snowboarder carefully using their edges to control their descent, there is an out of control skier, who has no idea how to use their edges, other than snow plough. If you are really concerned about snow being scrapped off, ban beginner skiers, and all those skiers with their legs stuck together.

Beginner snowboarders don't use long boards. It's really is sad, that after all those years "on the piste", you know so little about snow sports. The piste bashers were pushing snow back up the hill at the end of the day, long before snowboarding took off

And over 30  I'm over 50 in this photo

Crikey...It's not only their boards scraping the snow off the mountain it's their hands as well!!!

Perhaps there should be 'boarder arm length' limitations in force too!
Ski Helmets?

If you wear a helmet - That's ok by me

If you don't wear a helmet - That's ok by me

If you wear a helmet and preach to those who dont - Will you please STFU and just get on with what you bought your helmet for in the first place...Skiing/boarding.

"The fact remains that the risk of such an injury remains too small to insist that everyone on the slopes must wear a helmet. It should remain your personal choice at the end of the day...." (The AMA)
