I suggest you don't go anywhere near the IOW (or the Island as us Hampshire-ites call it) this weekend.

I have terrible memories of going there when I was about 10, I won't go into details, but it involved raw sewage and swimming :shock:

Never been back but I know it's a beautiful place, my parents went to Bembridge recently, very nice.

Although I'm in Aestivation, I do like to drop in occasionally (clearly as I'm on here now), and even more so since hearing that the glacier in Tignes opens tomorrow for the summer.

So I can get my fix for a few more months yet.

Thank you, I was just trying to remember what these were called. I saw a woman using one this year and thought it was the best one I'd seen so far.

Will be purchasing for next winter I think.

I watched the video after posting, brought back a LOT of happy memories. I want to live there.

Well I'm a big fan of both Val D and Chamonix. Did my first season in Cham in 89/90, loved it so much I stayed for the summer and did all of the above, followed by another winter.

Amazing place.

As Mr Admin said in another post, the nights are drawing in now - soon time to come out of hibernation and start webcam watching.
