How many hours of snowboard lessons does a beginner need ?

Both girls are physically fit (you'd hope so!) and my daughter has skied every year since 4 years old. Her friend had skate boarded a fair bit, so both had a good start. We took them to the dry slope to learn the very basics which was a help. They didn't have group lessons as no schools could accommodate them the week we went - although that was our preference as we hoped they would meet other kids. They had 2 hours per day for 3 days. They were not taken on a chair lift to start with either and there's no carpet in Samoens, so it was straight (and off!) the drag lifts. |

Last year my 14 year old daughter and her friend had 6 hours of private lessons and were confidently boarding red runs by the end of the week.
They had had about 4 hours on a dry slops previously, but were still pretty much total beginners. |

Nor me (helmet debate), we all know the risks and make our own choices. |
