It's ok I've looked it up and it's the same as Austria.
I think it's important to remember here that the EHC only covers basic state treatment so have some decent winter sports insurance cover in case of a bad accident and whatever you do, don't have your accident in France! |

thanks guys, very useful info and my entire office have abandoned their alloted tasks for the day and are now busy checking their EHC for expiry dates and renewing if necessary, no one knew that it had one! Some very scary stories about France in particular there. I'm off to Austria at Crimbo which seems to play fair, anyone any idea on how one fare's if you come a cropper in Switzerland? |

A good place to look is www.francealacarte.com .They book accomodation, car hire and ski passes leaving you to book a cheap flights with ryanair, easyjet etc. I have been several time and they are really helpful and friendly. I originally found them through another website www.activitybreaks.com that has some good deals in Italy and Austria as well.

Glad I read all this. We've just bought our own ski boots for this season and I wasn't sure of the protocol either so now they will be cosied up in their own pretty little bags then firmly and soundly packed in the suitcases. well done folks, another mystery solved  |

Hi
what on earth are you doing in these gloves, climbing the rock face of the mountains?! I haven't got any particular recommendation as to make etc. but if you've got small hands and the ladies small size is too big it might be an idea to try a children's size, but my main recommendation is to shop at TK Maxx where everything is generally half the price of the ski shops so at least you're not spending so much until you find a pair that suits you. I buy all mine and the family's ski gear there and never had any probelms with quality or durability. Shazzo |

Hi guys, thanks for all replies and info. Looks like I'll be heading off to either Zermatt or Kaprun/Zell next summer... and the summer after.....plenty of sunshine and none of that nasty sandy stuff in sight, hooray!

I thought my only option for summer skiing was Argentina and Chile - too far and too expensive for me I'm afraid - but on a US website I learn that several European glacier resorts open in the summer!! Does anyone have any experience of how good the skiing is this and a recommendation on when and where to go? (I know this may seem a little odd as the new winter season is upon us but I'm already booked for the SkiWelt at Christmas and Switzerland in March and am keen to know where my next fix will be coming from!) |
