Thanks all
The jet2 website only talks about actual ski carriage - vague at best. I always carry my boots separetely Tony - always have done. Dunno if they fit in my main bag! Handily a bottle of duty free Absolut in Livigno / Pas fits beautifully in the boot top and clips in lovely..... I had assumed they werent great planes but I didnt get to pick sadly as theres only one ski flight from Toon. |

I'd echo everything Andy said!
The 3 Valleys is a great area and if you're in that valley then Les Men is perhaps a better choice than Val Thorens if you're a relative novice as the runs into Meribel are easier from the top of Les men than from VT (took some people all the way to Courchebel 1850 on only blues from here in their first week) Equally though its easy to get from Les Men to VT and vice versa (though the run along the valley floor from VT to Les Menuires - Boulevard Cumin, is marked red and yet is flat so it's hard work) The downside of Les Men is that it is ugly - Val Thorens is no chocolate box but it's a thousand times prettier. Enjoy it though - my fave area in the world (and no I'm not going this year - its the Espace Killy's turn this year which is my second favourite!) |

Maybe we can make this thread as controversial as helmets/the N-word/France v Austria if we try hard! I did once see one of my mates on a webcam in France, embarrassing as he was "on the sick" at the time. Luckily I'm not his boss... |

Hi All
Having flown to Geneva on the Thompson flight for donkey's years this year it seems not to be an option from Newcastle for Inghams so I'm off to Chambery with Jet2. My question then is this: what are they like for ski flights in terms of bloody mindedness about baggage? I dont have my own skis but generally pack my boot bag with sallopettes etc - will this annoy them, do they count boot bags as a separate bag to be paid for, how jobsworth are they about weight restrictions etc ? Please share your experiences Cheers |

With that much deep powder around instead of the usual ice the Face will seem like a blue..... Or is that just wishful thinking on my part????? Roll on Jan 21st - hope it's like this then but with more sunshine! |

our chalet last year was "ski in" but that involved taking the "slip road" off to the left as you come down from the Folie Douce which had become an ice rink due to no snow low down. Carnage on the bend..... |

Racism in the true sense - picking on a race (the French, Austrians or whomever)even in jest (such as Englishman, Irishman, Scotsman jokes) rather than how it's usually used meaning discrimination against an ethnic group.
And we do get a bit of the former but agree never any of the latter |
