Not everyone needs them. That said I did and as above prob the best thing I've spent money on for skiing, all I would say is make sure the guy making them knows what he's doing and uses heel stabilisers etc

Usually wait unless I have a particular resort / accommodation in mind and if the resort is small. If its large ski area with Plenty of accommodation then I wait, also departure airports can be a problem but I suppose it depends where u live, but worth bearing in mind.

Hi got the option of going first week in March, but noticed the town / resort is quite low,
Anyone been at this time of year ? Any local tips would also for for this time of year in this resort Thank you |

Go back and complain nicely (make an appointment with the head bootfitter), if the boots are really too big there is no point on packing them you need a shell which has a better overall fit.If they cant give you one then ask why??
One other thing when you do go back, go when the shop is quite that way they are more inclined to spend a bit more time with you, and dont give up till your girlfriends happy you know your boot fit is very important as it affects comfort and ablilty to ski well. |

When I first took up skiing I thought they were a waste of time until i experianced my first white out and they were the only thing i could see!!

Earlier in season will be a bit colder, mid December just before xmas is quieter, or First couple of weeks of Jan, if you have to go Mid Jan or early March i would pic Jan personally if you go later then pick somewhere higher.

Seem to remenber Graham Bell doing a review on this in last years ski sunday,?
If i remember correctly it was a mixed review only much use if you knees were totally shot. |
