Hi All

We are unable to get to Austria for our usual Feb ski trip and we now have to go in March. Looking at week of 17th. As it is late in the season any suggestions on where to stay? We need a catered chalet (mum needs a holiday too) and preferably high up so snow sure as it is so late.

Have been looking at Konigsleiten Zauchensee

thanks

Carol

saffer wrote:So excited! :D Booked our trip to Scheffau for 4th Feb. After a great time in Niederau last season, we decided to go around the corner for a bit more variety. Not knocking Niederau and the ability to move between resorts, but with two families and mixed abilities, we decided to give the Skiwelt a try. Anyway, staying at Chalet Heidi, which seems to be a great place to stay. Must say that I found a lot of place already fully booked for that week, which I know is dutch half term, but even so, very busy already.

Now I start praying for good snow again, all excited like a kid at Christmas.............

Saffer - going back to Chalet Heidi myself again this year for Xmas. Couldn's get in last year as it was fully booked by mid year. Great place and the ski touring from Mike is brilliant as he really knows the mountains.

Have a good time

We are all high end intermediates too and the kids do off piste (I.m too old now!) We spend 3 weeks a year on the mountains

Went to Saalbach the season before last and oberlech last year - Oberlech!!!!!!

Fantastic ski in ski out, lots of runs, no lift queues. Up market hotels and y0ou really do get what you pay for. It usually books up early though for the bigger more popular hotels.

You also have Lech and St anton as mentioned. The nighttime toboggan run from Oberlech to lech is fun after apres ski or dinner!

Did not really like Saalbach at all as have to walk a fair way to get to the lifts to take you up the other side of the mountain and it was very slushy down low and that was february. 7km run home on wet moguls was not fun

We also want to try Obergurgl soon
What's the latest?

So nice to see all the old faces after being away from this site all summer!!! Looking forward to all the giggles and the bantering leading up to the opening of the season - oh, and of course all the good advice )

No new gear for me this year. The kids have all grown and all need new helmets, jackets and salo's!!

Maybe I should just leave them at home

I think they would be a bit big for me (and lots of folks) Many friends (and some ex-friends) have taken the p1ss out of me for locking my skis up over the years.

If those Redeemers were lifted by anyone other than a cliff jumping, deep powder expert, their attempts to ski on them should be easy to spot

Hi bandit

I bought new skis this season, Volant Platinum (I had skiied on hired ones for the last two seasons and love them:)) A bit concerned about this thieving business, can you advise on what sort of locks to get for my new babies??

thanks

Hi guys

I am also looking for ideas for next season - where can I get my hands on this brochure you are talking about.

I would like to try italy as we have had a week in France this year and 2 weeks in Austria

Family of 5 - think cheaper catered chalet

all ideas welcomed!!
