Hi Mel,
I forgot to say,it will be really busy that time of year but my wife is a teacher too so I understand your time problem. By the way try to avoid Chamonix, its a great town but not so good for mixed ability groups as most of the different mountains are not linked by the lifts. Gar. |

Hi Mel,
If you want a resort that will suit you both I suggest Avoiraz/Morzine.They are linked and have a good variety of slopes and its only just over an hour drive from Geneva.I was there a couple of times with a mixed ability group and we really enjoyed it. Gar. :) |

The map is good thanks,
but accomodation is our main aim now, Anyone have an apartment or a hotel that will take us for a week from a Thursday to a Thursday in Val d Ìsere or Courchevel or pretty much anywhere in the area?Or any ideas in other resorts? As long as there is more snow than last season were all gonna be happy. Our level would be all pretty good intermediates but we would like a bit of a challenge to push ourselves and would like to ski hard enough.Night life is not that important, were a bunch of Irish blokes...we`ll find a pub! :) Thanks again,Gar. |

Hi guys,
Anyone have an ideas for a week skiing on 31st Jan for a week in France? We are flying to Geneva and will drive up to a couple of hours. There will be about 6 blokes and we need to sort out some where to stay for the week. If anyone has any suitable accomodation let me know. We are not to fussy, hotel or appartment would be cool. Thanks Gar. :) |

Hey Jobster,
Thanks for the good advice, sounds like you had the same dilema as I do now.I reckon I`m gonna wait untill I have tried a lot more skis and then make a more informed choice. Still cant wait to own my own skis though! Its good to read quite a few peoples thoughts on this. Cheers Gar. :) |

Thanks Mark_T and Pavelski,
The idea of keep renting untill I really know what I want is a good one,I have only skiied about 6 weeks at this stage so probably would not appreciate the skiis to their full extent.Mind you I thought it might be a good idea to buy a pair and get to know them well and I like the idea of skiing on my own skiis. Is this a good or bad idea?? I only started skiing a few years ago but love it and am keen to ski more and ski better. Thanks again, all help is good help. Gar. :) |

Thanks again lads,all good information.
I had thought about going to the Atomic Boot camp but have yet to convince a friend to go.Do you reckon it would be a good trip.It sounds great value and could be a bit of fun. Is this the first year or has this event been run before? Gar :) |
