But look on the bright side.......
If you holiday dates arrive before you explode with frustration you will be skiing when nearly everyone else has nothing left to look forwards to than summer sunshine and the seaside.

Ski gloves - leather

Had a look at those 10 peaks gloves.
That unzipping idea seems really quite innovative but I would want to try them out first.
I have Hestra with the wrist cuff so I don't lose them and i like the gloves.
Skiing the Dolomites late march

Had a quick run through snow history, looking at 24th to 27th March back to 2006.
No dodgy years.
Resort runs open, varying from slush/spring conditions to excellent and new snow.
All lifts staying open on these dates.
Hope this is helpful.

Bit like pretty much everywhere Tony - needs the fresh forecast this week and then some to get things well covered for the winter.
But Xmas is still over a week away!
Go and look at the Serre Ratier webcam in Serre Chevalier if you want "looking really worrying" snow conditions.

I wish you health, wealth and happiness.......
But, aren't you taking an unnecessary risk going on an unofficial ski trip?
It is my understanding that there is clear statistical difference between trip success for those going "officially" (ie: on the list!) and those who risk going "unofficial".
Take extra care.......

Tony,
Your plan of driving to the Alps with a car full of screaming adults (plus sleeping child) is insane!
Do not even consider this as an idea.......

Job done - hope this is helpful.......
