Hi Karen,
I haven't beem to Bansko so can't compare. But I have been to Claviere and really loved it. It's not a large slki area in itself and although part of the milky way it's quite a trek for a day. Whem we went some of our group got a taxi to Sestriere and skied tthere and Sauze D'Oulx for the day. We went about 2nd week of March and it was freezing and we had a lot of fresh snow. It can get very slushy at the bottom of the runs in village, but the snow was great on top. We stayed in Passero Pellegrino hotel, which was quite nice. The slopes start right in town and everything is pretty convenient. You can go to Mongenevre, but when we went it wasn't part of the lift pass - it might be different now. I hope you have a great time. Dids |

Why would a less steep hold snow better?
Is this because it doesn't run down the slope, but soaks in? (dons dunce's helmet and stands in corner) |

Well, we haven't been yet. We're risking spring snow and going 31st March.
Next seasoon could possibly be much easier, both kids will have left school. One at Uni, one at 6th form and we won't be tied to dreaded school hols (we will go without them I think). Always fancied Arabba, or Cervinia..... We've been to France for yesrs, so deffo fancy somewhere else. Finances will not run to America and I like Europe anyeay. |

Green jackets have been popular for a while now. This is mine - 2008.
Still love it. Goes with a surprising amount of colours.
