Ian Wickham wrote:Right you Guys ski show next week, and as I have just won a pair of tickets ..... Yippee,
I'm Definitely going, I think the tickets are flexible including week ends, so who's going when and who's up for a couple of beers.

How did you win some?

We could possibly make it at the weekend?

Through the world snowboard guide, I enter all the comps never win much, so I think I might do the loto this week.
The Sunday or the Friday are my free days, I think Tony said about maybe going Sunday ??

Sunday would be good for us. :D

I admired the MTB folk when they were here in the summer... just turned up in a transit and parked anywhere and had cocktails by their trucks covered in mud every night... that's dedication to your sport and getting away from the wife :)

It's Mama's.

Tony_H wrote:1 good reason not to go to VT is prices for food and drink. I guess its pretty much the same across the 3V and France in the main, although I found ADH and Serre Che a fair bit cheaper. Still, if you people have to go to France......

You just need to know where to stop, there are plenty of good value mountain restaurants in 3V. Courchevel has the reputation for being silly expensive, but even there good value is available if you know where to look.

You can find good value in any resort, it's all relative really. There's no getting away from it France is expensive and Courchevel is extortionate.

I would prefer not to have to track down the cheapest places to eat/drink, when I'm holiday.

Haven't been to Morzine, but friends who have said they found it hard getting about the area.

What did they mean by that?

There are 650km of pistes so I can see how it would be difficult to get from one end to the other for less experienced skiers. You do need to be able to ski a red to get to Champery, but then anyone who isn't up to that would be perfectly ok with a local lift pass. There are two main lifts in Morzine and you can walk from one to the other if you want but there is a train thingy that takes you door to door. There are loads of bus routes and at least 6 of them are free.

I loved ADH but if I'm being honest I found it far more difficult to get around there than Morzine.
