I run Verdestein Wrintrax Extreme winter tyres on our vehicle which is a VW Passat AW drive estate. I leave the tyres on all year round & usually get 28000+ miles from each set of tyres. I have never experienced & adverse effects when driving in summer. Go as far as to say during the very heavy deluged rain we seem to experience in summer the tyres were excellent.
On the continent you find ready mixed winter screen wash in 5 & 10 litre containers that operates down to -40 in most service stations so no problem there. Before you go empty your reservoir & refill it with with a neat or specfic concentration mix to at least -20.
We overlooked this last year & the journey was awful, once the wash lines were froze that was it.

The information provided on this site should be impartial & based on fact, no one who has replied to this thread have stayed at the BRT. Until you get someone replying to this thread who can offer fact based advice I would suggest you ignore nightmarish comments. If you trust & have used Trip advisor before then that might be a place to start.
I am not trying to piss anyone off here but conjecture & rumour are ust that.

I wrote this before Mekka posted a relpy.
Where to go skiing in January?

Why not go further up the Zillertal valley & stay in Lanersbach great access to the Zillertal 3000 range, no worries there about snow! Lanersbach has enough pubs to make après ski interesting without being a wrestling match. We are planning a two centre ski trip for January 2012 & Lanersbach is going to be one of the resorts.

Do you think this is a good deal?

Seems a little expensive, you should be able to get it cheaper depending on availability. We are paying £2200 for 14 nights, family of four half board (Pension Marrianne) including flights & transfers all booked independantly and that's in the middle of Febuary.

 Just read that again £747 Inc ski pass & ski hire seems very reasonable. Sounds like a good deal.

the Lanerkopfl run is excellent & offers a real challenge to skiers of all abilities, enjoy it at your own pace & I am pretty sure you will have no problems. I believe the service roads to the reservoir will be opened up as trails, access to the trails will be from the Lanerkopfl offering a bit more diversity.

Back on topic.... has been the construction of another reservoir in Niederau to provide artifical snow coverage of the Lanerkopfl run.
