I actually think that would be good as long as the reasons were posted.
Helmets .... Is it a Brit thing.

Sorry - I didnt mean to insult anyone.

At the minute you are right - it is personal choice.

It just seems to be an easy thing to do to protect yourself. And If it were to become mandatory, I would welcome that.

Personally I have family responsibilities and think a helmet may protect me some day (maybe it already has as I have had a few very bad falls where my head has hit the ground pretty hard). A head injury would impact my family as well as me - hence that is part of my decision process. My wife is much happier that I wear a helmet and that counts for something with me.

The choice is yours and should be just yours.

This is an interesting one.
So we dont have a choice whether we wear seatbelts in our cars etc. etc.
Some laws are designed to protect us.

In your example, if the innocent skier had been badly hurt and the boarder held liable. BUT his injuries would have been less with a helmet, this could be deemed mitigating. So the boarder likely gets all the blame and penalised (maybe in insurance or worse) more because the skier could potentially deemed partly responsible for the scale of the injury by not having a helmet.

In this instance, I personally would support legislation on helmets to better protect everyone on the slopes.

It always amazes me when threads like this pop up.
Surely it is obvious that wearing a helmet is generally safer than not. Even a stationary fall can be a dead drop on up to 6 feet for your geat to hit hard snow/ice. That is never going to be good. At worst iy can kill, but it can often cause concussion.
We all have responsibilities of some form - be it to a spouse, children, patents etc.
Is it not very selfish to put yourself at risk know the potential impact to others.
I know there will be some will argue that helmets are less safe - I dont buy that at all.
In the UK we have required motorcyclists to were helmets for decades probably saving thousands of lives. Some bikes are limited to 30mph so it isnt all about speed.
Your head is important and bashing it on the ground is never going to be good.

Was in MW a few weeks ago.
I have mainly skied in the big French resorts. I would say the MW runs are graded about one full grade higher than France. So a red in the MW would be a blue in say VDI/Tignes/LA etc.
There aren't many real black runs.
For me, this was great news and I loved the runs. The slopes are very well looked after each night.

I loves the MW

Have a great time
Turin Airport warning

We were arrived through Turin on 13th Januart and left on 20th.

Arrival was fine. Only the bags took a while - but they all did arrive.

Leaving was painless. Yes there are lots of Thompson checkin desks - but that's no big deal.

It is a million times better than Chambrey in France.

Milky Way....Ski Jump hotel, Pregalato

Was in Sestriere a few weeks ago and visited Pregalato.

The run down to it is fairly slow and would be pretty tedious each day.
The gondola up is average.

I would look elsewhere in the MW.

We stayed in the Olympic Village in Sestriere and it was great. And not too expensive.
