Just come back from Risoul, ws a lovely place with great off piste through the trees. Weather was great and a smattering of fresh snow most days kept it fresh.
Although some lifts were slow and and a few long drags, this was a real gem of a place with a nice French feel. Not the wildest of apre, but that depnds who you go with I guess :-) Was not quite as impressed with the linked area of Vars, but that may have been due to the condition of the slopes which were not as well keot as Risoul. Enough skiing for a week witout doubt and met an English family of 12 who have been there 17 times, thats a recommendation ! All over for me til next year now  |

powder puppy, the smoking ban was not in force last March so i think it would be a bit much to have expected them to have stopped smoking in bars at that time!

La Plagne is a great resort with some great off piste and plenty to keep you going. Stayed in LP Centre in Jan, the "typical French" had stopped the smoking in the bars and resturants.
There did seem to be a bit too many blues, but dont let that put you off as some were more like reds. Nice to see you checking the French resorts rather than Mayerhofen! ) |

Off to Risoul this Saturday and have just noticed that my lift pass includes Les ECRINS??
I have not seen this anywhere, not listed on J2 and didn't see it on the piste map... anyone have any experience of this? Thanks |
