Yes I normally try on a few pairs and then decide on a pair and have never had to change during the week. I go half a size or a whole size bigger normally as that's what seems to work for me but everyone is different.

If it is anything like skiset gold, silver, bronze - the bronze package is definitely most suited for all of your needs. As others have said withn the bronze package there will be a selection of skis boots so try a few. But the bronze is definitely the one to go for as the skis are more suitable for your needs.

That was kind of half the reason for wanting to go, although the review was going to be for my magazine. The other half of the reason of course was to enjoy myself. I hear its a good place to visit for skiing. What magazine is this? |

Most sports fund grass roots programs spending (or should I say "waste" hundreds of millions of pounds and produce VERY little. Tennis for example cannot get kids to pick up a racket. the councils turn the park courts into basketball courts !! 90% of boys play for a football team and give it up when they are 12 cause despite playing before they can spell it, the skills learnt are simply not good enough. in that context with the money they spend... £3 million quid for some surf waves is a great investment... it is NOT a lot of money. If we all just moan about money distribution, nothing would get done. You cant please all the people all the time !! So, you stick to your beer tasting, i'm going surfin.... HANG 10 Tony_H |

In the scheme of things, £3mil is not a lot of money and if it gets people doing more sport and enjoying the outdoors rather than sitting in front of the playstation, £3mil well spent i think.
I have seen a lot of over 80's skiing and swimming without a wet suit in the middle of december - good on them. I dont think "coffin dodgers" is a particulary fair title. |

Pete Doherty is very talented, the libertines were the best band to form since oasis and babyshambles are excellent.
In terms of music, I fail to understand how anyone can call pete doherty a waste of space. There is no other band around at the moment that I would rather see than babyshambles who i have seen on numerous occasions and who are exceptional. |

Bandit, with all due respect you seem to have missed the point here.
You are replying to someone who is nervous about skiiing due to a negative experience on indoor slopes. I'm not saying that it is necessary or indeed always the case that lessons on the snow are geared towards the weakest in the group. What is true however is that there is a lot more flexibility in moving between groups which is not available on indoor slopes where you've booked a 1 hour lesson. I would also add that the scenary and atmosphere of the alps (or any ski resort) does add to the experience of skiiing be you a beginner or expert. |

Personally, I would never compare indoor lessons to those out on the alps. In my experience, indoor lessons are rushed and geared towards the best person in the group - lessons on the snow are quite the contrary.
I had an indoor snowboard lesson in milton keynes which completely put me off snowboarding. My Partner (a seasoned skier) had a few lessons on snowboarding in the alps and loved it. I suppose the lesson here is that nothing compares to being out there - in terms of lessons as well as scenary/atmosphere etc. We are taking the kids next year (14 and 9) and I am completely sure they will be better than me! I can confirm though that the norm is separate lessons for adults and children, then meet up for lunch and ski together in the afternoon. |
