An old long sleeve tee shirt and another over it that you can take off if its too warm. Job done. |

Thanks Bandit. My physio finished a few months ago and I have been in the gym or on a bike about 4 days a week so the knee is strong.
I will look into what type of knee brace to get. Gonna be hard to stay on piste  |

I am looking for a bit of advice about what the best kind of knee brace to wear after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. I know various knee injurys have been discussed here before by Caron and Pavel but was hoping for some good advice.
I had the opperation 10 months ago and the knee seems ok. I have a few days in Cervinia to look forward to in 8 weeks :D and this will be my first time on skis in 21 months. I have a feeling that on piste will be ok but deep snow is a no no. Any ideas??? Thanks Gar. |

Tony,
If your going up the signal lift first thing you should go straight down the other side. There is some really cool easy reds on the way down to Villard and the place is empty. When you have skiied down as far as you can there is do it again and take your time as there is some great off piste that is close to the piste and great for building the confidence in the legs. For another easy few hours head for Vaujany which is also pretty empty. Great skiing in ADH. :D Enjoy P.S. My avatar picture is taken halfway down the Tunnel. Good times. :D |

Slightly off topic but...
I'm going to Cervinia for 5 days on the 17th December so would like to know if there is any do's and dont's from anyone that has been there?? For example, should I get an international pass for the 5 days as I hear that the skiing in Cervinia is a bit limited? Thanks, Gar. |

Tony,
Go to Avoriaz. Its only an hour from Geneva,is very snow sure and has plenty to keep you busy for a few days. Chamonix would be great for the lads but not Mrs H, and your right it is a pain to get around. Gar. |

We all know that Ryanair has no customer care and they really are the worst to deal with if anything goes wrong. BUT....remember that because of Ryanair you can fly from Ireland and the UK to most of the ski airports in europe for about 100 quid including skis.
Ok so flying is very different from 20 years ago when it somehow felt a bit special to get on a plane but its far cheaper now as long as you accept that you get what you pay for. I hate bad service as a rule but I love that fact that I can get to the snow for very little even if the journey is a pain in the ass. If putting up with rude ryanair staff means that I can probably get another long weekend on the snow every year, then I'm all for it. |
