We got a pretty good deal on car hire at Chambery last year when we were going to Alpe D'Huez (like you we'd found it was the ceapest option).

Even better we could pop across and collect the keys/car while waiting for the luggage which got us on the road well before the transfer coaches.

Theres a fairly new one 6-seat one in Kaprun - and believe me last weekend when it was in the minus twenties those heated seats and bubble were a godsend!

I enjoyed a day down at Madonna when i was staying in Tonale early January last year - there was a free bus (if you had booked the appropriate ski pass) a few times a week at least, don't know if they do the same in the opposite direction but i would have though it likely - the bus droppped us of at the bottom of the Gondola up to Marilleva 1400.

The runs locally were fairly nice and the link over into Madonna was pretty quick, can be very busy thouhg. We found the black run back down into Marilleva rather fun, especially when a bit quiter and a mad woman desparate for the end of day beer leading us down!

We skied the whole of Zell am See in late November last year - fantastic conditions. Just hoping we strike it as lucky this weekend.

I have had my bag weighed twice by Easyjet last year and once by Ryanscare. I think Easyjet now specify that your 'ski carriage' covers an extra 12kg, anything else is excess - I think my Metrons would take me up to and over that so K2's when I us the orange ones!. No idea about Ryanair, I'm managing to avoid them this season - PHEW!

Will be in Kaprun in 3 days time, I think Zell is showing as opening 22/11 so hopefully wil get a chance to ski there to - though I don't think theres much snow ... yet.

O've had an Ellis Brigham double wheeled bag for about 18 months and it's been great. Just loaded both pairs of ski's in ready for next week ! :D
