Thanks Tony that has really helped me too. AS you know we are going during the school hols and I am worried I wont be able to find my feet after so many years off skis. I notice at the bottom of that run it splits into 2. how do you know which way to go. Also can anyone use the nursery slopes or is it just for ski school? Because I think I should go on the nursery slopes first to make sure I can still ski! lol
I received this email and thought some people might find it interesting. If the link doesnt work try copy and paste it into the address bar. It is about a couple who have uprooted their lives and bought a chalet in Filzmoos and it is about them setting up business. Not sure if it has aired yet.

Just wanted to let you know I took the plunge before the euro got any worse and I booked the silver skis for my self, hubby and nephew and the kids, the kids ones lol.

I thought I would go "middle for diddle" as I like to say!
I will let you know how I get on. I wish I had booked them when I first started asking about them as it would have been cheaper. I got them from skiset. Before I booked them I registered and emailed them for a voucher code and they sent me a discount code for 25%. They give you a unique code (although I had tried it with one I found which was "skisetpassuk" and that gave the same discount).
I decided to hire all the family (adults included) helmets from a skishop in the UK. I know it will be more to carry but I thought it would be less hassle when we got there, without the rushing around trying to get 5 pairs of skis and boots and 5 helmets.

Is £350 enough to cover broken or lost skis?

Also they mention you are covered to ski on or off piste (with an instructor) but what if we are out sledging and one of us breaks a leg? is there something else that I should be looking for on the policy?

Hi there

I am looking for travel insurance and was looking onthe direct travel website adn they have 3 levels of insurance.

On one of them (the platinum one) it covers you for damage to ski equipment. This was something I hadnt even factored. what happens if I damage ski equipment? Am I insured at the shop (which will be the one in Niderau (Margereiter) I mean, do I actually need insurance to cover equipment?

i bought this pack thing from aldi. it has a high vis jacket and a triangle oh just remembered, i think it is a tow rope! where do i get the beam benders from
some good advice there. Thanks.

I think hubby will be doing most of the driving as he "doesnt like the way I drive" unless he has had a drink (as alcohol doesnt really interest me) in which case I am allowed to drive!! Hubby has driven in France before. It was ok most places except the arc de triumph!!

The main things I wanted to know were

Is it compulsory for the kids to have booster seats?
Are the speed limits the same or are they properly signed what speed you can go? (we are taking our own car btw)
What about signage? I know on the programme I watched they went round a ferry load of people with different road signs and noone had a clue what they were (including me!)
How do I find out what I need to cover the headlights or what I need in the boot. I remember reading a while back saying I needed a high vis jacket and triangle and something else but I cant remember. with regard to the high vis jacket, do I need to have 1 for each passenger?
