I'm guessing you're still waiting for the cooker beeper to go off then? :D

Also a useful tool on ice skates to get revenge on those who get under your feet

I nearly got to do that bit but was in a lesson at the time with my OH, who point blank refused to go (spoil sport!!) As it seemed a bit evil to leave him at the side of the piste for 20 minutes whilst I went up with our instructor I decided to be nice. I was gutted though :( Maybe I need a new ski buddy :D |

With the Euro as it is, you may be better getting lift passes from the TO - definitely cheaper this way when we went in January.
Don't know about ski hire as I took my own. Runs wise, try heading over to Sansicario (not been but I'm told it's nice) and Sauze for a day. Red 12 from the top in Sauze down to Jovenceaux is a great (and long) run, as are those on the Moncrons side (Red 3000, 35, 36 etc.)I've put some photos up in another post. I only did a couple of hours in Sestriere but the bits of the Olympic run which were open were great. From chatting to some friends in our hotel who did this from the very top, it's definitely an experience... Enjoy!!! :D |

Probably going to regret this, but whilst we're on the subject of silly hats....
One of my more useful Christmas prezzies, even if it does look a bit tea cosy like  And yes, I did take the hook off the top before I went skiing in it  |

I'd echo the ‘be cautious’ sentiments.
Not sure what it's like on route to the Alps, but I was in Rennes over the summer and a French colleague who was driving us to Saint Malo was having a whinge about the increase in the number of fixed speed cameras in France in general. We kept (more or less) to the speed limits, just in case ) |
