Still reading and already planning for next year. :D
Will also try to upload some photos from our March Dolomites trip. It was my best ever week on skis, which given the amount of great ski trips I've had previously is saying something. I can now safely say that I love skiing powder but moguls are evil and I think always will be. My back still hurts from a mogul–related high speed wipeout on my last day and it's now 3 weeks later. |

10 sleeps and counting....
Given that the forecast for the next week is snow, snow and err more snow (30 cm at village level and 45 cm on the mountain) with temps not getting above 3 degrees the urge to bounce round the office is becoming irresistible. :D |

I think that's the most important point – it's meant to be fun, for everybody. Not everyone is destined to be the next Lindsey Vonn. As long as we can enjoy what we are skiing, be that blue runs, extreme off piste or somewhere in the middle and can do so without killing ourselves or anyone else, then does anything else really matter? I'll never be a great skier and accept that. I can't really carve my skis in one direction due to a hip injury and no amount of lessons will change that. Moguls are still my nemesis but I hope to get the hang of them one day. My philosophy is to try to be as good as I can be at doing what I love. I can do no more than that. -) |

Totally different scenario but it's taken me several years to persuade my husband that black runs in Italy aren't necessarily scary (and are often easier than the red alternatives due to being in better condition).
His skiing is pretty much the same level as mine, it's just that I like to push it and challenge myself a bit more. Finally had a breakthrough this year when he actually volunteered to ski a black with me. I think my response was "Who are you and what have you done with my husband?!" Think we've cracked it. :D |

Sorry to hear that Huwcyn and hope things eventually click for your partner. I'm sure with the right instructor you'll ski together one day, it might just take a bit longer than you first thought.
Best of luck -) |

Err, pass. Geography was never my strong point and that was the only German resort I could think of. -)

We normally fly to Venice Marco Polo and the transfer is included in our holiday (we go with Collett's). They also provide transfers from Venice Treviso for free or from Innsbruck for a cost (£45 per person, return). They are based in Arabba, Corvara and Pedraces.
I think they will provide transfers for non guests, space permitting, but I'm not sure how much this would cost. School holidays probably will have space as they'll maybe run coaches, rather than the usual minibuses. You're more likely to be able to do this from Venice than Innsbruck as more transfers run here. I think they would only pick up in Innsbruck if already collecting other guests. May be worth ringing them to ask as likely to be cheaper than car hire or a private transfer. 23rd may be OK this year provided the weather doesn't change dramatically. There will be snow but may become slushy in an afternoon if it warms up. Depends if you're happy to give up mid afternoon if necessary? Will post some pictures when we get back. -) |
