Hi,

Went to Serre Che some years back and drove to Montgenevre for a days skiing there and also over to Claviere, and had the best Lasagne i've ever had....a couple of good bottles of vin rouge and then a great ski back, a wonderfull resort i found which doesn't seem to get the publicity it deserves......but then again thats not always a bad thing :D

Hi,

When travelling to france for my hols i find it better as the other replies to take a small amount of currency to get by with for a few days and then just use my normal debit card to get money fron the hole in thr wall.

Hi,

I agree with Innsbrucker about the credit card side of things, as long as you have paid with a credit card ( and only needs to be £1 or more )in the event of a no show the credit card is legally obliged to refund the whole amount, after all the checks have been done etc.

(on another note about the £1 thing, this works with any financial transaction, whether buying a car ,TV or anything else,as long as at least £1 is paid via credit card, if the goods or purchased item are not recieved, fit for purpose etc they have to pay/refund and areliable for the full amount by legal requirement.

Hope it works out for you

Hi,

MMMmmmmm after doing my knee in the other year i found strapping cold bottles to my knee with a tea towel worked pretty well, mind you as the bottles got warm they had to be replaced....hic!

But it made do until i was able to get home and see a doc.

In the past i have used Columbus for ski insurance and found them excellent, although i am now with Direct Line for my yearly travel insurance and have not used Columbus for several years.

Again when choosing insurance the small print is the important stuff not whats written in bold lettering on the policy, when conatcting an insurer just ask them plenty of questions about the policy (record the conversation if possible....you must ask for their consent to do so though first) then they cant wriggle out of anything in the event of a discrepency.

All the best

I have nothing but praise for Columbus insurance. a few years ago I had an unfortunate accident while on holiday (not skiing). They paid out promptly (£10k!) and were most helpful during the very distressing time.

I have just booked my insurance with them for this year - covered 2 existing medical conditions for silver policy £46 where Tesco quoted £100!!!

Do it!!!

Hi,

Yes i think it was the Silver one i had aswell, the only reason i went with Direct Line was that as i had a couple of others with them they gave me a better deal on my car insurance, if i had not changed i would still be with Columbus.....great company
