Have to agree LOTA. Even on race day the trains were good. They were packed but with more trains and more carriages running there was no waiting around.

Bloody hell!! If Grindelwald was cheap, where were you for the other trips? |
|
Just a tad  |

It can be a bit of a trek it just depends on how much of the area you want to cover. Grindelwald to Mannlichen area is 30 mins on the gondola. Kleine Scheidegg is about the same by train and First is a gondola ride of about 25mins. This last week there's not been a queue in sight and once you've done the initial trip up the mountain the rest is the same as any resort and covered by chair lifts etc. Personally, I don't see it as a problem and make the journey up part of the whole enjoyment of just being in the mountains. |

It was a fantastic week. Watched the downhill practices from the grandstand in Wengen and then joined the masses at Canadian Corner for the combined downhill and then down the hill to see the slalom.
OH very happy to see Bode ' do I have to go through all the gates?' Miller. Nightmare flight home. Aborted landing 50ft above Exeter runway!!! Then a diversion to Gatwick with my dinner close to showing itself again. Ground crew said it was a spectacular scene watching us come in and pilot's comment was that he'd never flown in such bad conditions. Then a 6 hour drive back to Cornwall! Still sorting kit and photos. Will post some later in the week. |

My prediction is that there will be a huge dump on the 17th Jan as I get on the transfer bus home just like last year.
