Anyone else remember the fad for wearing pop socks for skiing?
Supposed to improve contact and feel because they are so thin. I did try it but just got cold feet! |

I am wondering what it is about ski helmets?
To wear or not to wear - that is the question? We have some light hearted (ish) banter about choice of country. A very minor amount of p*** taking about one piece romper suits. A good laugh about bobbles! But helmets!?  :!: Sensible discussions about skis, types, brands, lengths ... Likewise boots. But helmets ... I have never really considered helmets as anything but a personal choice, I don't wear one but maybe I should, who knows, but it's my choice (at the moment). I would love to know why the helmet polarises people like nothing else? :?: |

Well .........
The views on this are many and varied and heated and ........ see http://www.j2ski.com/ski-chat-forum/posts/list/7518.page "The Ski Helmet Debate" which is currently running at 60 odd pages of comments/replies (arguments, exchanges, puns, veiled threats, outright war, divorces, murder [well nearly] etc etc) |

Snapzzz - you got me worried on this and so I phoned them, as I had paid for my renewal a week or so ago. It is odd, and is new wording this year. Also a double negative as with most legal language it also relates to the heading half a page higher. You are covered for blood wagon and helicopter rescue when skiing as this is counted as medical evacuation cost by the most appropriate transport. Lady said this wording has confused a number of people. And then Bandit .... Your message then further muddies things, I do wonder if Direct Travel realise what the likely scenarios actually are? I suppose the bottom line is that a medical evacuation will be paid for but getting "lost" and needing rescuing will not. My lady used hiking as an analogy, where falling down and breaking a leg would be paid for but going the wrong way and getting lost and needing rescuing would not. I wonder how easy a damaged knee is to fake  ?? |
