Oh, and you'll need your webcams of course.
Here are a few .....
http://livecam.courchevel.com/ (click Plein ecran for a full screen view) and a google search will give you more.
On the "La Saulire" cam the main run in front (towards a lift station on the opposite hill) is the Combe de Saulire, a red. This is the main route back from Meribel and can get stupid busy and over crowded. If you are Meribel way it is worth considering coming back via the Col de la Loze as this is above Le Praz and will give you a better ski back.

Everything

But a couple of slopes that are often missed are M, a black of the top of Vizelle bubble. This is one of my all time favourite runs and doesn't tend to attract crowds, can get a bit bumpy, worn and icy on occasions.
Two reds that you will usually have all to yourself are Mur and Cave des Creux which are over above the Altiport. I suggest these because most people miss them and they are sweet runs (rather than an amazing experience).
The rest is just enjoy!!!!
Go where the snow dictates - and if there isn't much there are 2 bubbles back down to Le Praz, which in my view is a better way to end an enjoyable day higher up that fighting down a bare and busy road of artificial snow.

Once upon a time, the baggage security man at Miami airport opened my 'dirty kit' rucksack. I warned him that I'd been in the jungle in Belize. He went ahead - and his face was a picture of horror!

Similar thing happened at Lyon airport after one RAF ski championships; security opened everyone's ski bags at check-in. They were confronted by two weeks' worth of smelly socks in scores of bags. Poor beggars needed danger money....

HaHaHa !!
My car was searched as part of a Customs training programme at Portsmouth - on my return from a season in France!
The back seat was full of bin bags, and I was in the absolutely last possible remotely clean clothes!
And I had some lovely cheeses and saucisson!
And the Spaniel got over excited and the young lady showed great professional fortitude when riffling through my dirties.

LOTA wrote: Murren, at 1650 metres above sea level, is considerably higher than Grindelwald, at 1,050 metres asl. The slopes, too, are higher and more snowsure than Grindelwald.

Also a seriously attractive place - would be lovely at Christmas, I think.

 Thanks for the info.
I always though that Murren, Wengen and Grindewald were all about the same height.

A question - not a statement !!
But ....
Is Murren snow sure at resort level for Xmas?
I was in Grindewald, just over the hill, for New Year in about 2001 and the snow was very poor lower down. Not really possible to ski back to the town.
This may or may not be an issue depending on whether a train up to the snow is considered a problem.
Personally I like to ski from and back to the resort.
In which case somewhere higher would be better.
Headcams!

I'd love a camera for skiing but can't really justify the cost for a bit of fun I may only use once or twice.
I do fancy one of these because they don't need a helmet or straps to hold on and you can see what you are filming on the screen.

Anyone any experience of these Adreno cams or similar.
Don't think the quality is anywhere near as good as GoPro, but you pays your money etc.

Lucky you
Great fun to watch - don't forget to get some skiing in as well though

When Val hosted the premiere neige downhill on the old OK course that finished in La Daille I was there 3 years running and also had a great hol over the 1992 olympics. Our apartment overlooked the finish and podium at the bottom of La Face - great views.

Enjoy ....
