As a general rule...don't be fooled in believing telephone numbers represent where someone is based. I run my own business and just yesterday I was offered "local" telephone numbers for London, Bristol, Leeds, Manchester (and others) for just £4/month...."making yourself look 'local' will attract more customers" they said! £4 is sooo cheap if you want to look like a 020 based company. |

You can always look at Companies House records for Limited Companies
Skiing Holidays Ltd was set up in 2003 but has sat dormant ever since; new director appointed in 2010. free info here > http://wck2.companieshouse.gov.uk/303d3fb65dade447ac54a97397b3f5ba/compdetails or > http://wck2.companieshouse.gov.uk/303d3fb65dade447ac54a97397b3f5ba/wcprodorder?incexc=1 where you can buy more info...that might tell you whether the directors keep setting-up and closing down businesses. Do your research and make a choice! All businesses have to start somewhere...and even the biggest go 'bump' and leave people stranded. |

Have you learned anything about yourself on a recent ski trip?

The kids did it for me this year. Their first ski trip. And it suddenly came home how much we're programmed to protect them but then at some points you just need to let them do it on their own.
There were mixed feelings of utter terror (real pounding heart) as they were skiing a narrow track alongside a 50ft cliff with no fencing, one slip and they are gone. But utter pride as I could witness their transformation during the week. |

Locks might be a deterrent, but just because they're locked don't assume that they are then covered by the insurance; this is one policy wording for EXCLUSIONS: "5. Claims arising from ski equipment left unattended in a place to which the general public has access (e.g. on the slopes/outside a restaurant" I would assume that to mean they would refuse to payout locked or not. |

Not nice that day. When I did it I don't recall any of the fencing restrictions, you could pick any route you wanted...but in the video it looks like everyone was being channelled into one horrible traverse. But the problem with Le Tunnel is that you can't look at the conditions before you get there. Should they have turned back up the tunnel? Probably, but the challenge gets the better of some. |

Nice to say I've done it, the conditions were great and only about 6 people on it...but I'm sure I still didn't look pretty!
You could always pole back out the tunnel again if it looks anything like this one... not my vid, but watch from about 4:20min you get an idea of how steep. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZB1YpZNfPs |
