Next season

Tony is a j2ski holiday still on the cards for next season? This is something I'd be interested in for sure....
It goes to show how dangerous a sport like skiing can be, he clearly has to wear a helmet but when he hit the net it didn't look that bad at all. I've seen far worse in down hill racing.

A real shame and thoughts go out to his family and friends.

Dolomites somewhere, or have a look at Grimentz in the Val d'Annivers. Verbier also worth a shout. St Anton?

Thanks tony, verbier is on my list and I've already considered it. St Anton is also on the list but price puts me off a little. Any specific resorts in the Dolomites?

Thanks

Verbs is great, I loved it there. Not cheap eating and drinking but chalet board is the answer there.
St Anton also is no more expensive. Plenty of chalets and you dont NEED to spend a lot there. I didnt find it as expensive as people seemed to suggest it would be, although its more pricey than a lot of other Austrian resorts. BUT its the real deal: lovely resort, lots going on, fantastic skiing, good extent. You can't got far wrong with it.
Not been to the Dolomites myself, but the places I keep looking at are:
Selva
Arabba
Canazei
Ortisei
La Villa
Corvara

You'll find something in that lot.

Most defiantly, plenty to go at there, thanks. Let the search begin. :D

How to put more pressure on your toes

If your skiing in the right position wouldn't this come naturally anyway. My instructor always told me to keep your knees bent with your weight forward, master this and the rest follows. I know it can be hard especially for a beginner to lean forward when going down hill as your mind/ body wants to do the opposite.

He also said this is when people usually fall or crash because the body weight isn't positioned right.... My only thoughts as I set off from the top of each lift are.

Am I relaxed.
Do I have my knees bent
Push my shins against the tongue of my boots
And keep my feet hip width apart.

My only thought as I'm skiing is stay relaxed at all times. And I find myself doing the above as standard.

Hurray it's finally coming....

The place I'm talking about is a local golf course and seems to be the usual sledging spot for kids etc when we get the snow.... I'm yet to find out if it's any good though.

could you be talking about Val d'aire or locally know as gotts park

 no it's not gotts park but that would be a great place to have a mess about in good snow.... I'll try that next time. It's rawdon golf club.
Amazing! Takes a lot of verve to do that after everything. Great vid....
