Well done, Trencher, I knew you wouldn't have finished the season just yet.

I may have finished mine, I'm just all skiied out. My knee lasted, just, but I disregarded all the warning signs, spikes, shocks, swellings and kept skiing flat out. I am content though, it was a great season for me. If my bits and bobs do recover, I might go up to Glenshee......

What's wrong with the old ones?

H'mm, just have to re-think that, our respective definitions of "old" may not coincide.

I may be wrong but would this have been taken from the balcony of the Auhof in dare I say it Niederau ... ?! :-)

Correct. Tennladen on the left, The Stueck on the right. Lump in my throat.

Have done it the other way round, Saas Fee to Zermatt return. Most of the TOs do a day trip, generally by mini-bus.

There is no way, however, that I would give up a days skiing in Zermatt to go to Saas Fee or Saas Grund.

Thank you for the pictures and narrative Lynn. I was there in 2001, when the Sella Ronda was a ribbon of machine snow. Hence it was nice to see the area in pristine condition. I didn't take many pictures, but managed a few paintings.

I suggest Keystone and Vail, but, base youself in Breckenridge. Breckenridge is set at 9000ft, so you can acclimatise and get over the jet lag at the same time. Breck offers a lot of skiing.

Fly Heathrow to Denver, hire a car, drive to Breckenridge.
Hire a condo, on line.
Your lift pass covers you for 5 resorts.
Keystone is only 20 min away, and is beautifully groomed.
Vail is a one hour drive, and offers lovely runs through tree glades.

Alternatively, book with a T/O, but be careful of distance from slopes.
Within Breck, there is a great ski bus service, covered by the lift pass.
Is it me?

I tried to get away with this a week past Sunday, on Ladies Day. Thought I might get free skis for the day. Can't imagine why I didn't get away with it!

The reason why the diversion is to Verona, and not Munich, is that they have reps in Verona, but not in Munich.

Have heard of a recent case, where it seems a Thomson rep did a runner, owing a ski school quite a lot of money.

I agree with Tony, this needs to be reported to Crystal. I wonder if the 3 lift passes were offered just to the more "youthful" looking adults?
