Visited your house yesterday morning Johnny, lovely place, lots of character! About the same distance from the Bichlwirt and Tennladen T-bar as I am! Congrats. I have met the previous owner. Herbert assues me that he is half regretting the sale!

You were in Niederau last week? I didn't realise, else we could have met up. I returned yesterday, after 3 weeks fantastic skiing, with a great group of friends for 2 weeks, and solo the final week. You will have had great skiing too, including 3 clear sunny days to end with. My normal speed is on the 60kph mark, and about 65kph on the steeps/jump. Carrying the camera, speed was 50kph. Best speed was 69kph on 19 January this year. Most visitors would take 10/20 minutes, plus time if they stop. Knowing a run well does help! |

Thank you Dusty, a long time ~ I agree. Expert? I have a long way to go. I work all year studying technique, and when skiing, practise every day, and have no shame in tapping up those better than me. |

Heard of it, of course, but that method is getting a bit dated. ) I once fell into a Trencher hole, where I indignantly responded to his post by listing at least ten different skiing styles, (most of which I use, depending on circumstances) Trencher gently explained smilies to me! The only pair of carver skis I own are 2m long, with a mighty radius! Not as big a radius as my straights though! I do take a lot of stick from most of the Niederau instructors. I can still beat most of them to the bottom though ~ maybe they cover too much ground with those big, wide carves!!! :D :D |
