seasonal skiing insurance

Whilst the EHIC may allow you to claim some of the costs not covered by the local NHS equivalent when you return to the UK, if you have been abroad for more than 3 months the NHS may consider that you are no longer a UK resident (or were not at the time)and thus decline to reimburse you.

It is a slightly grey area but leaving the country for 3 months or more you might lose your entitlement to NHS treatment.
(Entitlement to NHS services has nothing to do with nationality, where you used to live or where you pay (or paid) taxes.

A lot of Brits who retire abroad get a shock when they get ill and decide to return to Blighty for free treatment under the NHS ony to discover they aren't covered.

I'd make sure to be well insured and not take the risk.

I have used the above web site to book ski hire for some of my party last season.
No problems at all.
Hire shop literally at the base of the ski lift (Clotes) where you can buy your passes at the window.

It's easy to get from La Plagne to Les Arcs to La Plagne - there's a huge cable car that links the two and it's easy enough to ski to & from the cable car so a bus wouldn't really be necessary.
The runs around Morzine can get clogged although that is more around Ardent and the top of the Ardent bubble.

Morzine is a reasonable Town and much nicer than its neighbour Arvoriaz which is a concrete dump that seems to expand remorslessly.

For me the skiing in the 3V is better but I've never been there at half term.
The one gremlin with Morzine is that the Portes du Soleil is relatively low and prone to getting wet & pudding like in the later part of the season compared to the 3V

Ally, what will the Carre Neige provide that your insurance doesn't?

The hire cars often have the vignette already attached.
Ebay is a good hunting ground for them too - although it's early in the year for them - there are often a number of people who buy them, never actually get round to sticking them in the window unless they get stopped and flog them on eBay.

Not been to Maddonna in the winter (although the last September that we drove there it was pretty snowy) but the Dolomites are stunning.
