Ally, that is actually Ians top and he likes it.. he was not joking about!

Everyone has to start somewhere and as long as folks are getting in to skiing it doesn't matter how they do it but good kit is available very cheaply especially with ebay on the go (amanda will testify to this) everyone should be equipped to a point where they are warm and dry at all times otherwise being on the mountains becomes unsafe.

As for the instructor, that is pretty out of order IMO. Did you pull your daughter from the class or ask for a change of instructor?
...because I can ski almost any day I choose, jus' don't feel like it today :D

Can you tile a roof?

(this post was well worth the two star rating, I am one step closed to enlightenment)
That's it Ian, you have officially shown everyone on earth your top!

Ally, riding down on the chair at the end of the day I was getting a bit cold and damp, my ski stuff isn't exactly 'the best designed gear' but I would bet he came near to being soaked through if he skied all day and cold too. Ski stuff that old and that well used probably doesn't work as well as it could.

Your sallys were black, hardly worthy of a photograph. Welly boots are awesome.

Think of length in relation to weight not height, I would go anywhere int he 170 something band. The longer the ski the more stability you will have but the harder it will be to spin etc. Again a bit of a trade off. I would recommend going the short end.

Bindings are pretty much personal preference. Something like the Look PX12 (who freeze almost certainly stock) would do the trick nicely.

Yeh.. the skis at Freeze were £255 or something, could pick up some decent bindings for not a lot on top of that. Remember second hand bindings can be good but you will have to pay around £25 to have them mounted.
