Excitement

Spend hours on the internet looking at resort webcams, searching for new ski wear (particlarly bobble hats), looking at you tube videos of people skiing the area you will be going to, looking at ski instruction videos and looking at any ski related videos.

You can also spend many hours on ski chat forums with other folk in the same predicament as you.

As Trencher has already mentioned you can spend a lot of time grooming any ski equipment you may have or even admiring/trying on any new ski wear.

Enjoy the excitement...You'll miss it so much when the trip is over you'll be looking for another one within days of getting back!
Avoriaz > Morzine ?

Whilst the Prodain cable car is open until 9pm week nights and midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, it's not that easy. There are buses, but they're only frequent at peak 'ski' times. They stop running in the middle of the day for two and a half hours and the last bus is at 7.30pm so any visit into Morzine at these times will require a taxi up to Prodain.

I did get on the wrong bus once and realised straight away, but being lazy I decided to stay on until it returned to the same stop. To my dismay the driver chucked me off at Prodain as it was Lunchtime. I had to walk down, but luckily after about a mile some lads in, on and hanging from every protruding part of a mini bus on skate boards stopped and gave me a lift. :D

I've been skiing donkeys years and I don't have any of that list apart from ski boots.

I have a camel back but that has only ever been used at festivals for smuggling my own booze into the arena.

If it's a particularly cold day and my toes/fingers get cold I stop for a 'chocolate chaud, avec...' lol They soon warm up! :D

My mum sent me some money so I can replace the ski poles that I left on a bus last week.

And that's about it.

I was awake at about 5 am yesterday too...Kept trying to get back to sleep and did so in 10/20 minute stints. Eventually I woke everyone up at 8.20.

I liked it when the boys were little and woke up at the crack of dawn for Christmas.
