I agree Tino, but with the toast you've got quantifiable variables - like the way you butter it, the height of the surface you knock it off (or drop it), the surface area and weight of the toast etc.

But I have yet to discover why Tony thinks I will lose more left socks than right ones

How many pairs of identical socks do you think one would need, to keep the numbers of left and right socks about even?

Ally

the only answer I can you that I am certain is accurate is none.

Good lad, arrived in Zermatt earlier today with the same idea. I pair of old jeans, ski pants, a couple of t-shirts and a soft shell.

Split the crotch of my jeans before I got out of Germany

Advice for skiing at this time of year.

Get up very early, take breakfast on the mountain if needed, have lunch early to maximize the quiet periods. Do the runs to resort in the morning and stay high in the afternoon.

I'd be gutted if one of my boards got nicked, not so much due to the value, more the emotional attachment. Now I don't mean to sound like I'm good with colours or anything but I could never throw one away or sell one as they all have memories attached. If forced to get shot I would be devastated. However at this rate I'll have 33 by retirement age.

Might have to talk to the future Mrs 11 about a shed or get some clause written into the pre-nuptial which already includes serious penalties for the first suggestion of cross-country skiing, a second instance resulting in divorce.

Back on topic however, there is a few of us on here, why not start a small business. I have a good idea, which for obvious reasons I'll not advertise, but it could be a winner if anyone is interested??

Surely you needed a turn or two to get from the top of KM to Plata Rosa, sown where the draglifts are? I grant you the section between there and Trockner Steg can be a real chore in spring on a board unless it's been prepared with a base for gliding.

The thought of professional thieves is disturbing as they need to invest in passes to ply their trade. Must be profitable. Can you get your skis chipped?

It's sad that people set out to pinch ski equipment. All I've ever known about was a mates pair of hire poles went walkies whilst having lunch. He in turn did the same to someone else and got very short shrift when he told us about it.

We can not answer to the infinite variables concerning the "People" issues you refer to, but if you have a problem, our experience shows that the area management cares deeply about your concerns and you should communicate with them about any negative experience.

Upon further furious examination this person does represent the resort in some fashion.

Not convinced the OP was not deliberately targeting MT or not, however if this PR response is even slightly indicative of the resort I pity the management.

Okay rant over.
