:D :D off to val thorens this weekend,after a week of termoil wandering how to get there ,hopefully flying from liverpool tomorrow lunch .i have never been skiing so late before it was a xmas pressie from the wife just packing light shell jackets forecast looks warm,still plenty of snow ,any body been before with some tips apres,good runs,dining,the tobagan run at night etc,thanks will report back on my return :D :D

Good lad, arrived in Zermatt earlier today with the same idea. I pair of old jeans, ski pants, a couple of t-shirts and a soft shell.
Split the crotch of my jeans before I got out of Germany :oops:
Advice for skiing at this time of year.
Get up very early, take breakfast on the mountain if needed, have lunch early to maximize the quiet periods. Do the runs to resort in the morning and stay high in the afternoon.

Tino, loads of army and fit guys in lycra still about? I think the Elite racers started today, not sure what time though.
Freeze levels due to be at Trockner Steg all weekend, though you might get a few snowflakes tomorrow!

Aye, the street is all cordoned off for spectators etc, pubs are full of squadies but not seen much Lycra yet.

Tino, if the barriers are up, then the race will likely start at 10pm tonight. I imagine that the fit guys in lycra spectacle will appeal more to me :lol:
The start line is quite tense though! If you go and watch, we want a banner with Hello J2ski held up high please for Canal9 :D

Hmmm, how can I make a banner given 1 hours notice, a comfy seat at the bar, I might streak instead, it'll be easier ;)
