I ride at an altitude starting from touching 13,000 ft regularly and by the calculation of the response I should be on 22% oxygen whilst having my pre-2000m drop cigarrette, as I contemplate my 7km run into Italy for a class of Chianti. It also means those who summit Everest without supplemental oxygen are not actually human.

Don't believe facts at face value, this is nonsense.

I have just knocked it off my list for a first NA trip, not due to the OP but due to the typically bullish mantra of a brainwashed individual who chose to respond in a manner which reinforces the original point with astonishing clarity.

Hope to god the individual who responded is not a representative of the resort.

Tino, didn't go over to Cervinia, due to me getting a half price tcket for Zermatt only :D However there were lots of Italians skiing the Zermatt side.

1st time for me using the full blown Matterhorn Express. So much better than before, a seat....all the way to Trockner Steg
Tino, the black run from Furg to Furi is open and skiable....or in your case ) .

Zermatt will still have lots of squaddies about, and PdG competitors as it's on until the 25th.

I love that run, imagine it's a bit interesting on the narrow section just before the wee run out to the restaurant. I rode that in May last year to discover that section cut in two by a landslide. That'll be why it was closed :)

Will be my 6th time in Zermatt, 5th this season.

So far:

Aug 09 - Saas Fe
Oct 09 - Zermatt
Oct 09 - Hintertux
Nov 09 - Zermatt
Nov 09 - Zermatt
Dec 09 - Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang
Dec 09 - Engelberg
Dec 09 - Grindelwald
Jan 09 - Zermatt
Feb 09 - Grindelwald
Feb 09 - Engelberg
Mar 09 - Feldberg
Mar 09 - Zermatt
Apr 09 - Mayrhofen

Crikey, it'll be my 6th time
Apr 09 - Zermatt ???

Just finished work, have tomorrow off, now heading for a beer to decide if I go to Zermatt or not. Won't get 3 full days as I can't be arsed travelling tonight, but 2.5 will do me nicely.

Bandit, did you get over to Cervinia? What were conditions like over there?

Circa: 39 days done, 8 in Chile planned, maybe 3 in Zermatt this weekend. Gonna be short of my goal of 60. Still, it's the end of my 3rd full season and it's the only way I know to forget life. To quote no one at all "what use is a big pension, given a boring life". Make hay whilst the sun shines my friends.

I bought a nice North Face Summit Series soft shell recently in Zermatt and was told under no circumstances wash with powder. It blocks the pores and does not affect the waterproofing as much as it does the breathability. That's not to say it doesn't affect the former.

3 mins? It's an improvement, good job!! I like the tree bit also and the general sync with the music. I am gutted it's spring already. Trying to persuade a colleague to sell me 280,000 BA air miles for €2500. This gets me 2 return business class flights to Santiago back, gives him a wedge of cash for his move to the states, and only costs me €450 more than 2 economy tickets.

So what's the girlfriend say about you going on two ski trips to South America

she's just glad I made no purchases last night ;) I found a 177cm in the States and was seriously tempted.
