It's not getting closer, it's been bloody hot here in the Oberwallis today, hurumphhh. I need to renew my einheimische before I can renew my season ticket, jobsworths.

Bad Hotel Kirchler is normally where I stay. Theo good deals at that time of year, half board, lift pass and have a pool and spa area, decent bar, nice restaurant and a small night club.

It was great but too short :( managed to ride Valle Nevado, La Parva and El Colarado during the 8 days, we had La Parva to ourselves one day, bar the Canadian national team. Chile is a great country, I'd move to Santiago in a heartbeat, very British feel, it's quite odd. Didn't manage the heli, even though we had to powder days the conditions were not good enough for them to fl to 5000m.
Ripped a board through to the wood core, she will be retired now, full of drunkenly applied ptex. Best board I ever had too :( I'd recommend chile to anyone but be sure to note, resorts are small, but in Valle Nevado after a dump the off piste is endless. I'd compare it Engelberg in Switzerland if I was forced, and after snow Engelberg is about my favourite place. |

I've skied the glaciers of Tignes, Val d'Isere, Saas Fee, Zermatt and Hintertux mostly out of season, and the only one I'd truly recommend to you is the Hintertux. Big area, big lifts, high altitude resort (for Austria) and the best snowboarding I've ever had in October. 3 years ago arrive in Tux on the 6th October, it's snowing, wake up next day 80cm of fresh - at the hotel!!!

It's in Austria
It's expensive It's great fun It's full of Gucci skiers (you know, one run, 5 glasses of champagne, 3 pairs of sunglasses, fur, and that's just the blokes) It's pistes are badly or wrongly marked It's got good connections It's somewhere I wanna go back to, the sliding is great! |

As a Swiss resident I really can't complain, travelling abroad right now is mega cheap and the mountains will be quiet in winter. My season pass for Zermatt/Cervinia costs less than 2 weeks at the rate above.
