It is still raining down at resorts c 1200/1400m although the temp is now dropping significantly at lower levels.
A few days snow, a few days low temps and snow cannons and resort runs down to these levels will be up and running.

Have you considered the possibilty of actually having the baby in a ski resort?

Would the insurance cover it or is that a whole new debate

I'm sure your insurance would be fine crispy, after all there's not any real difference to you skiing as a father than there is as not.
I've never heard that fatherdom is something that insurers even need notifying about.

Will definitely look into an hours tuition this season.

I doubt you will regret it SB
With a clear focus of what you want to achieve and the will to then practice after the lesson an hour can develop your skiing amazingly.

Got to agree with Trencher ...
Easy slope, plenty of space, lean the legs/knees and finish the turn.
Got my niece following me last year on some nice blues and she "got it" in 2 or 3 runs and over the next day or two was able to progress to carving on easier reds.

Again ...
Finish the turn!!

Mind you bandit has a great idea - an hour with an instructor would get you there and could be the less painful option - at least you would know you were carving and not just hacking up the hill

Which is lovely !
I think the "half of all last years snow" is very telling as this amount really sets up the base for the whole season.
Hope there is still planty to come through into January as lower resorts still need to get the base down on the resort level runs.

But ....
When is it too much and when should I be choreographing a no-snow dance??

Mind you that guy presenting needs some lessons! Hope he gets better as the season goes on. The girl last year was great for the weekly snow reports. A good up-beat voice even when the snow wasn't the best.

clong wrote:I'm always curious to see what it's like in the lower tignes villages- les brevieres especially.

Not because I stay there, but because I've always wanted to do the runs down there.

Is there any way of checking web cams for the lower areas? Any links?
