Went to Cuba for honeymoon and it is an amazing place. we went at this time of year and there were some hefty thunderstorms but as quick as they arrived they ended.
The people have absolutely nothing but their warmth and hospitality comes unconditional. Don't know where in Cuba you're staying but if you get a chance go to Havana. We flew up there for the day. Full on, knackering and wish we'd one for 2 days. 7 years on we still long to go back and still talk of the brilliant time we had there. |

There's one in Grindelwald on the Oberjoch blue run. Didn't try it because it was in a very short track off to one side of the run and I was worried I'd not be able to stop in time after passing through!

Good luck with the new job Rose.
Jury service - oh dear, very very tedious. As Wickers says, get a well written key employee letter from your new employer. It's worth a shot, two weeks of jury service will bore you to tears. |

Well, I shall be holidaying in the UK. But then I'm lucky to live in Cornwall.
Money is certainly tighter this year with the economic slow down. Builders / developers who were building houses are now competing with the smaller guy like me and doing patios, decking, porches etc. Larger companies like Anglia & Everest are banging their prices right down and matching the little guy on quotes. Really hard at the minute to get the jobs in. I'm putting what money I can away to ensure we go skiing. During our summer break we'll head to the beach (hopefully), take our boat out for a couple of days, go surfing, hire kayaks, take the bikes out. With the amazing countryside, beaches and visitor attractions we have in Cornwall and the UK I can see why people stay in this country. There's no such thing as bad weather, just people wearing the wrong clothes. Yes, it would be great to have some more sunshine but you cannot knock those who can't or don't want to go abroad. |

I'v put in a special request for sun. Mawgan Porth is lovely. Watch out for rip tides if you go in the water there. Had to rescue a boogie boarder from there last year. |

Oh bloody hell, more bloody tourists clogging up the roads. ) Don't forget you're passports, we may not let you in. Where are you staying in Cornwall? |

FIL has no probs with flying at all and is happy going up the mast on his yacht. But, I've been in a gondola with him and the fear is intense. I think a lot of the problem is worrying about the lift getting stuck and having to be rescued. If the lift stops he really gets worried and the fear becomes overwhelming. Even getting the train for the first time from Grindelwald to Kleine Scheidegg was a huge challenge. Familiarity does help though. We went to Grindelwald for the second time in January and because he'd been on the gondola / train before he was fine. He even went on the gondola from Mannlichen down to Wengen which has a huge sheer drop. And then when he went on a small 4 person bubble barely 40ft off the ground he was in pieces. It's a really difficult situation for him as he loves the snow, skiing, walking etc. |
