That is far too complicated and I must admit to a sense of sorrow for anyone who considers an airport hotel a holiday !!!!!
But .......
47 to go before Serre Chevalier which is a big help having returned last evening from L2A

Ice ...
I have had your exact problem which arised after some hard skiing.
My old boots had a screw under the arch that pushed a plate inwards under the liner thus padding out the arch. Bit of a hit or miss - too much/too little but problem solved in a day or so.
But the BBR on a more serious note.
I skied 89 @ 176cm for the week and adored them.
But I can understand the detractors. I was told the 79 are flappy, but popular with lighter skiers/women.
What I found was a very well behaved and amenable ski.
They are very happy to pootle around, controllable, stable and well mannered.
But ...
Put them on an edge and they fly!
These skis just wanna go fast and when you let them go they are superbly stable on piste.
I skied harder and faster on these than anything I have used for some considerable time. And felt very safe and in control.
Short turns, long turns and no turns - all the same.
I think that for me they were perhaps a bit too much of a ski on blacks - I only really got them carving on a black properly once and I was following an instructor on a steep black with excellent snow and it was empty. The instructor was whooping with joy at the end as he had been trying to get me to let go and carve down and it worked. Wonderful to be able to look back at two rail tracks down the Super Diable in L2A!
There was no proper soft powder to try them out on but I followed the same instructor off-piste onto wind blown crust and into spring like soft stuff and was able to link turns and feel in control.
The hype is correct about the huge shovel just powering through the crud and stuff.
On the whole I found them superb but do understand the detracters. They do look odd and they need to be worked, sit back a bit and you have lost it but keep on top of them and they are perfectly mannered, press the accelerator and they fly!

I think they would really suit what I know of your style of skiing Wickers .....
You can stand them next to you in the restaurant and listen to all the comments.
Carry them from bar to bar "posing" ....
Perfect the "walk" and maybe look like a real skier ...

Yes .....
But .....
Although barely out of puberty myself, when I first looked at this site for snow forecasts and was reading a few posts the general age seemed quite low.
I now realise that this impression was based on content of posts and form rather than any correlation to age in geological terms.
And at the time I was feeling positively ancient!
