Neither Zermatt nor Saas Fee for the little ones, especially if beginners. Wengen would tick the young one box, but may not be the best choice for advanced.
What has to be born in mind with family skiing, is that a contained resort is better than link-up resorts, so that you can have lunch time/end of day meet-ups. Obergurgl might fit the bill, with the same reservation for advanced. Hinterglemm certainly would, except that it is not overly high, and may well be a bit sticky at resort level in Mid March. Most years it would be OK though. None of my choices would take into account shops. Zermatt has an icerink. |

And the Gondola is a bit dodgy. Henski, there are enough positive people on here to maximise your chances of doing this, and there is certainly sufficient expertise. 1. I agree that aiming for short transfer locations is a must. 2. Thursday to Sunday is almost certainly a DIY ~ so we need to know your nearest departure airport. Also, we need to know the date(s), both for choice of location, and for our research. 3. Accomodation may be a bit tricky for just 3 nights. But everything is possible. 4. Depending on the flight situation, the price may not be a barrier. For instance, you might not need lift passes for the first day, and you might get away with sharing a points card. Also, ski school might do a special deal for your party. Travel out "late Thursday night"? Remember, you have time to get to the airport, check-in, flight time, and transfer time. Finish work Thursday lunchtime? Look out for 13 newbies hitting your slope in March, folks. |

Will be there Boo_yay! With a large group of noisies~ the Irish nurses are there, the fast ski lady (she skied down with me last year in 2 min 40 secs), Two outrageous ski buddies from our village, a lovely young lady from Vail, Colorado, hopefully, my ski buddy, Mel, if his treatment hods up, several J2skiers, some rugby player friends, don't get in their way.....

It is unlikely. I have been there in early March, and in January, and neither time was the snow complete even to halfway down the Gondola. Hopefully, you will be lucky.
It is a pleasant town, but the Gondela up is a 30 minute ride, just to get to the Meribel base area. |

Boo_yay! I stay 180m past the Harf. To catch the first Gondola, I either skate across to the Poma, walk down to the village, 8 minutes, fastish walk, or the ski bus will stop for me. Alternatively, walk 30m to the Tennladen T-bar. My apres mainly centres round the Harf or the Bichlwirt, but if I wish to catch up in the village, I walk down. Last season, I pushed a lady in a wheelchair from the Harf to O'Malleys. And back. What's with the younger generation? |

That is good going, B_Y, the Gondola takes such a chunk of the time! |
