Definitely not a tourist drink. The locals treat it like their champagne.
Think Petrol mixed with Paraffin and Diesel, only stronger.
Which resort has it all....

Nope. ZERMATT
ICE - how common?

On the Hahnemkamm, immediately after the race. Sheet ice all the way down to the bottom. Scary.

On the Tiger run at Glenshee. Not scary, but perplexing, like "where did that come from?"

If you could get the insurers to drink it, we would all be covered for everything! :D

The schapps is Krautinger, Em. It is the local drink, made from a small turnip. The Wildschoenaers are very proud of their Krautinger, and are very offended when I refuse. It tastes foul, although I am told that by the third one, the world looks like a better place. Well I think the world is all right as it is.
You can still taste it two days later.

Your description made it sound almost reckless to be honest!

True!

Have you ever fallen forwards on skis?

Yup, several times, ripping down off piste, both tips under the snow, and under a fence wire! Taking a blind jump, and discovering in mid-air I was going to be landing on a combination of rock and mud, and the fence wire trick again, one ski under, one ski over. In each case I was definitely too far forwards!

And I think Bandit had one a couple of weeks back.
