When Pavel returns we see at least three great things:

1. A great story....

2. News of a future Pavel Quiz, (aka: more sleepless nights)

3. Being in the presence of ski greatness.

We all hope you will enjoy Utah Pavel and look forward to your reports and stories of this trip. :D

Jan,

When you come to NA on a ski vacation you may land in Halifax. If you do land here plan a day here. We can go to Ski Martock for a day, and you can get the feel of a smaller ski hill in this part of the world. It isn't a huge "resort" but it is a friendly and fun place. Then you will be able to tackle the larger N.A. ski centers. Your first list didn't include Sunday River in Maine. This is a must ski location. One run there (Rogue Angle) brings on lots of dreams - I'm told.

How do you do the turn/ land backwards bit?

Paul;
For one source of "how to ...": look here for step by step instructions on the 180 switch; also there are many U tube clips.

I've never been there but understand it can be a very positive experience.

A couple of years ago, an early morning skier at Martcok (Nova Scotia) was really pumped because he had just spent a week there. It was less expensive to leave this side of the Atlantic and spend a week there that it was for him to go to the western Canadian resorts.

He really liked the entire place and thought it was so "cool" to be able to ski a bit and stop into a mountain side pub at various locations on the way back down. However, I think he said something about the temperature variations being somewhat extreme.

From what he told me, Sallbach Hinterglemm is on my short list of ski destinations when I have the opportunity to cross the pond.
