There are still red squirrels up here in Scotland Trencher.

They are even getting protected by an armed millitia - country rangers are shooting greys trying to sneak over the border!

Trencher - I do like this idea. It is my beleif that women have a secret device which grants them access to an other dimension where they hide things.

Many a time my girlfriend has said something is in the cupboard. Even if I have taken everything out and x-rayed it I won't find it. She walks up and lifts it straight out.

I am sure it is an evil conspiracy to torment us.
Do you have a favoured radius ?

All my Avatars are squirrel related.

I love the furry little blighters and have a bit of a fixation about them (must to my girlfriend's dismay)
Hello wise chums.

I might, might just be going to the Telus Festival in Whistler. This is completely unplanned and came as a total suprise, just landed in my lap. I don't want to say any more about how it came around at the moment in case I jinx it (but hopefully I'll be able to spill my guts on Tuesday).

My current skis are dead. They have lasted since 2003 and they will not take anymore punishment. Even the bindings won't be salvagable (well I can use the rig for the dry slope but not on the proper stuff).

This was all fine and well when my next trip was going to be next season (you may have read my cunning plan in an other one of my postings) but now that it is next month I'll need to pick up something now and my old plan won't work.

My new plan is to pick up a new pair in Canada as this should be a lot cheaper compared to Scotland.

As it is towards the end of the season I was hoping to pick up some sort of bargain. My budget is really tight (still paying off last Les Arcs trip) so if anyone knows Whistler and can reccomend a really good and cheap ski shop I'd be really grateful.

Cheers

I like these ideas and am going to merge them into one plan: get her really drunk, be forceful, wave my hand infront of her, then call the police when she has broken my fingers.

I have just printed off my CV and am going to pop it in to a couple of ski shops around town.

You see what with a mortgage and a crap job I can't afford a new pair of skis (the old Rossi 9S just won't take another season). So I thought to myself - what better way to earn some cash (apart from selling my kidney) than to get a weekend job in a ski shop?

But the thing is that I don't think that my girlfirend will be too impressed with the lack of time I'll be able to give her.

I need a valid excuse that will keep her happy.

I'm thinking of buying her something shiny before I buy my skis.

Your suggestions and ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Helmet size?

As Bandit said you should really try it on. Each manufacturer seems to have a slightly different shape.

Infact I can see the day where ski shops have helmet fitters as well as boot fitters.
